Proverbs For Performers (Part 51)
Seekers Are Finders
He who diligently seeks good seeks favor,

But he who seeks evil, evil will come to him.

Proverbs 11:27 (NASB)
A rebellious man seeks only evil...
Proverbs 17:11 (NASB)
I will seek another drink.
Proverbs 23:35 (NASB)
You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB)
When Jesus proclaimed, 'Seek and you will find' (Matthew 7:7), He gave us His pledge of encouragement: Our valiant quests will not be in vain, because the Lord is tracking our progress. Although His timing is a mystery, the goals of our goings forth will be found. Who but God could guarantee this result?

Even so, the word, seek, is an Order from our Captain and Commander in Chief: Jesus, the Ultimate Action Hero, the only Son of One Who does not sleep.* 'My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working' (John 5:17). While blessings may chase us,** destinies don't. Lazy, lukewarm or sedentary saints won't make the cut for soldiers of the Lord.

Here's one more related revelation: Although God wants His children to seek Him, He allows all seekers to be finders--even if their ambitions are evil.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: 'Many seek the ruler's favor' (Proverbs 29:26). Many 'Seek the favor of a generous man' (Proverbs 19:6). Most 'Seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus' (Philippians 2:21). 'They do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!' (Isaiah 31:1).

But you're called to seek a better Goal to show how good things are better found. To 'Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added...' (Matthew 6:33). How 'They who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing' (Psalm 34:10).

Therefore, 'You who seek God, let your heart revive' (Psalm 69:32). 'Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His Face continually' (Psalm 105:4). By your example in media, sincere seekers will change their search terms and start to follow the Source of joy.

* 'Behold, He Who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep' (Psalm 121:4).
