You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them...
Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man, and he protected him. And when he heard him, he did many things, and heard him gladly.*
You have appealed to Caesar? To Caesar you shall go.
Isaiah 60:1-3 beckons brave actors, models and talent for Christ: those rising to stand up in God's spotlight; those refusing to stand for deep darkness; those relying on the Lord's Own glory... to perform before the kings of this earth.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Many Bible stars stood before kings: like Abram, Sarai, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, David, Daniel, Esther, Zerubbabel, Nehemiah, John the Baptist, Jesus and stalwart Paul--not to forget the Lord's great prophets.
Why? Because their gifts made room for them. Their talents were extraordinary, so God cleared a path and a platform for their destinies to be fulfilled. Not just by good kings like Darius, but also by bad kings like Herod. Earth's kings had supporting roles to play.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Much like the two rewarded servants in The Parable of the Talents,** you've chosen to invest the assets Jesus gave to you in His absence. By the means of modern media, His Good News is carried to the world.
Therein, don't be intimidated by agents and casting directors or even major studio kings. Because you, yourselves, are royalty:
'To Him Who loved us and washed us from our sins in His Own Blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever' (Revelation 1:5-6, NKJV).
With your saintly status understood, memorize your marching Orders:
'Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness will cover the earth
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you
And His glory will appear upon you.
Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising' (Isaiah 60:1-3, NASB).

NOTE: This is a republished edit of a 2016 devotion series, 'Proverbs For Performers.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Every disciple in every field performs for Christ. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.' Mostly true. But you're not 'merely players.' You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Proverbs For Performers series.
