Roles, Ranks & Positions (Part 6, Conclusion)
Actors, Models & Talent For Christ
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by Your truth. Your Word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are One: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
John 17:15-23 (NKJV)
Actors, models and talent for Christ: The time is now to get real and forget the hype. Okay, I take that back. Don't forget the hype--use it! Let the world's hype launch you in God's timing. As I write this devotion, AMTC has grads on The Voice and X-Factor, and the winner of South Africa's Got Talent--not to mention thousands of other roles, large and small.
Okay, I take that back, too. No role is small. In fact, God loves the small roles--and proved it when Jesus became a Carpenter. You see, that's the thing about hype. You can't believe it, but you can use it--to spread the messages of Jesus: light, truth and love.
If some narrow-minded Christians tell you to abandon this world, the broadest Minded Man Who ever lived said hang in there. Hang with the sinners, the lost and the lonely. Show them the Reason for the hope you carry.
After all, Jesus brought the point home very Personally, when He hung it all up there for us.
When thinking about roles, ranks and positions, don't. Don't think about them. Be thankful for every stage. Because you are exactly where God wants you to be. When the time is right, your custom-designed blessings will chase you down and overtake you. It's a promise--if you hang in there.
Not like He did. Because He finished that job. But you've got your own job to do. Be a star for God. The world is dying to meet you. Run toward it, like the good father of the prodigal son, like David toward Goliath, like actors, models and talent for Christ toward Hollywood.
