But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same Image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us...
He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
Jesus Christ is a perfecting Mirror: the longer we look, the clearer He is. He's like a mysterious Looking Glass offering three different images for His saints to earnestly consider.
1) Christ's radiant Form is front and center. He's pictured and framed as the Word of God, revealing everything we need to know.
2) We see ourselves directly to His right. Each day we come into greater focus, increasingly shining like our Model.
3) On the left is another view of us. It's unpleasant and even disgusting. Just one quick glimpse is a sobering sight.**
Actors, models and talent for Christ: You look at manmade screens frequently: thousands of hours of sponsored content. 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2), entertainment's content manager, media's malevolent maestro, promotes idolatry ceaselessly. Lost lambs stare at stars and copy them.***
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Smart sheep stare at Christ and copy Him. For this great vision, you're commissioned. The more you ponder His Reflections, the more you'll reflect His radiance. Therein, fans will be drawn to your light.
Even so, muster up your courage and dare to face your uglier side: the side that needs God's deliverance. Pray for His Hand to cleanse you of pride, lies, lust and unbecoming smudges...until the left and right become One.****
## Self-Examination 2020: The Perfect Mirror (Part 2)
* 'For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then Face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known' (1 Corinthians 13:12).
** 'For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was' (James 1:23-24).
*** In reflecting our Shepherd, we are sent to seek, save and tend lost sheep.
*** 'But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd' (Matthew 9:36).
*** 'If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying? And if he should find it, assuredly, I say to you, he rejoices more over that sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray' (Matthew 18:12-13).

**** Like dross from silver. 'For You have tried us, O God; You have refined us as silver is refined' (Psalm 66:10).
NOTE: This is a 2020 edit of a 2017 Shine Devotion series, 'Self-Examination.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players.' Mostly true. But you're not 'merely players.' You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Self-Examination 2020 series.
