The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
A fool does not delight in understanding, but only in revealing his own mind.
The mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.
He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
At best, foolish minds ponder petty things: superficial stuff like how to look good, instead of how to look good to the Lord. Foolish minds focus on the obvious, but above all, they focus on themselves. Even so, their lack of long-range vision inevitably brings them to ruin.*
At worst, foolish minds hook on harmful things: stupid stuff like pleasure at any cost, instead of pleasing the Lord of true joy. Foolish minds want to win angry debates, but above all, they want to appear wise. Even so, their stubborn, puffed-up mindsets inevitably bring them to ruin.*
Actors, models and talent for Christ: The One Wise Mind is the Mind of Christ. Amazingly, He likes to share It.** Because without wisdom from above, even the highest IQs on earth become precariously foolish, destroying others and then, themselves.
'Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace' (James 3:13-18).
Actors, models and talent for Christ: Because you're working in media, a field filled with lots of foolishness, don't waste your time being critical. Instead, shine with wisdom from above. Through Christ, even fools can become wise. We are evidence of that process.
