As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever.
Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.
Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.
Humility is what I most admire.
Humility is what I most desire.
Humility is what I must acquire.
Humility should become my attire.
Yes, at any cost. Yes, at any cost.
Humility is how I must retire...
From myself, from myself. Yes, from myself.
It is the way I most aspire to walk, but every day I fall short of God's mark. Every day my pride causes me to trip. Every day my mind gets full of itself. So every day my head needs to decrease, so the Mind of Christ might increase... in me.
'He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less' (John 3:30, NLT).
Actors, models and talent for Christ: God loves to fill up willing vessels. But if you become full of yourself, you have no room for God to enter.
If the King of kings humbled Himself,
If He labeled Himself a Servant,
If He lived simply, from birth to death,
If He disdained the trappings of wealth,
If He rebuked wealthy hypocrites,
If He chose humble men for His team,
If He Personally washed their feet,
If He worked best among the humble,
If His miracles were meant for them,
If He ordered us to copy Him...
Then humility is essential.*
Yes, even within entertainment, where pride is its standard apparel. Your simplicity and selflessness will make you unique among its stars. Even more, your new code of conduct will offer fans a different choice.

* Quote and article by C.S. Lewis: 'Developing the identity, attitude and conduct of a humble servant does not happen over night. It is rather like peeling an onion: you cut away one layer only to find another beneath it. But it does happen. As we forsake pride and seek to humble ourselves by daily deliberate choices in dependence on the Holy Spirit, humility grows in our souls.'
