Self-Examination (Part 8)
Eyes: Amblyopia
Go to the ant, O sluggard, observe her ways and be wise, which, having no chief, officer or ruler, prepares her food in the summer and gathers her provision in the harvest.
Proverbs 6:6 (NASB)
Through indolence the rafters sag, and through slackness the house leaks.
Ecclesiastes 10:18 (NASB)
'I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.' But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant...'
Matthew 25:25-26 (NKJV)*
Amblyopia describes lazy eyes. One or both eyes won't follow or focus. If it's treated early, it's curable. But if it's ignored for too many years, eyesight can worsen, even to blindness.

Physical laziness courts disaster. Lack of effort makes our bodies grow weak: the opposite of stalwart warriors. Lack of movement makes us sedentary: the opposite of glorious heroes. Lack of good works makes us poor witnesses: the opposite of Christ's ambassadors.

Spiritual laziness keeps us small. Lack of Bible study makes us naive: prey for false prophets seeking false profit. Lack of prayer time makes us disengaged: prey for the devil hunting wayward lambs. Lack of correction makes us spoiled children: prey for temptations binding us to them.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: If your lives are being recorded, if your roles are active story-lines, you're in Part Three of a Trilogy. Films One and Two fill up the Bible. Both are magnificent adventures: epics worth watching repeatedly, because each view reveals something new. With previews of coming attractions, They're Prequels to His grand Conclusion.

Laziness (a.k.a. settling down) is not fitting for an action-star, and God's not into casting idlers. His Own Son was earth's greatest Player. If you follow His lead, you'll succeed.
