Self-Examination (Part 92)
Back: Resolute Backs
Naomi said, 'Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me?...'

But Ruth said: 'Entreat me not to leave you, Or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go; And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people, And your God, my God.'

Ruth 1:11, 16 (NKJV)
Our heart has not turned back, nor have our steps departed from Your way.

Psalm 44:18 (NKJV)
In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.
Luke 17:31 (NKJV)
Resolute believers follow their Lord wherever He goes, no matter the cost; no matter the inconvenient timing; no matter the personal sacrifice; no matter the enticements found elsewhere; no matter the discouragement they face. Their attention stays focused on their King.

They refuse to turn their backs on Jesus. Instead, they turn their backs on their old lives. They won't bend their faith to worship idols. Instead, they bow their heads to worship God. Seasoned saints know their duty as soldiers. They are bound and determined to hang tough.

Because their Captain hung tough on the Cross.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: You live in an irresolute world, where the word, resolution, refers to the quality of your photos; where resolute hearts, minds and lives shift like compasses ruled by passion.

I believe the Lord has summoned you to re-establish godly standards in a way many Christians don't know. Because the world wavers constantly, because false prophets waver with it, keep your backs ramrod straight and forward...

To be in this world, but not of it; to follow Christ wherever He leads.

To Be Continued...

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
