Show Me The Money (Part 8)
Derek Prince Teachings
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 (NAS)
Let not many of you become teachers, my brethren, knowing that as such we will incur a stricter judgment.
James 3:1 (NAS)
I am not a pastor, but two that I follow serve on AMTC's Board: Dr. George Dillard and Dr. Bryan Crute.
I am not a teacher, though some of you might argue that point in reading AMTC's daily devotions. I confess that God is their Author, and I am His eager pupil. I am a woman of God and a work in progress--called to raise His standard and a new generation of performers.
I say these things because I believe His children have too many teachers authoring books-a-million starring on screens-a-billion. They tickle our ears with tempting talk, but are they truly representing God and His kingdom?
God's Word is overwhelming love, but It is hard: harder than anything on earth, harder than anyone--including Satan. His Word breaks us in the right ways. It defeats our enemies. It uplifts and transforms us. But It's hard to read, hard to hear and hard to do. Any teacher that softens It is guilty of misrepresentation.
Derek Prince (1915-2003) is a teacher I believe. He meets the criteria set up by God. He is deep, rich, profound and simple. I recommend his books, and one called 'God's Plan For Your Money' here. Consider:
'Your attitude about money reveals your attitude toward God Himself' (Derek Prince). 'No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon' (Matthew 6:24).
'Mammon is more than just money. Mammon is an evil spiritual power that grips men and enslaves them through the medium of money. You cannot maintain a position of neutrality on this subject. We must acknowledge in our lives the claim of one or another. It is not a choice of whether we will serve. It is a choice only of whom we will serve: either God or mammon' (Derek Prince).

*I reference and recommend this Derek Prince teaching: 'God's Plan For Your Money.' It is short, straight-forward and scripturally rich. I believe every Christian should read it. http://www.derekprince.org/Shop/Search.aspx?q=money&in=1000003350&search_subsections=True
