Soldier's Orders (Part 38)
Men: Step Up
Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?
Isaiah 6:8 (NASB)
You shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them...
Joshua 1:14 (NKJV)
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9 (NKJV)
Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13 (NASB)
Men of God: Has Satan hit you with a sucker punch?

Has he wooed you like a betraying flirt? Has he tied you to a chair called TV? Has he nursed you with a bottle of beer? Has he seasoned you with sugar and fat? Has he divorced you from your family? Has he covered your eyes with big green bucks?

Has he settled you down in snug churches? Has he fenced you in among your brethren? Has he amused you with endless hobbies? Has he ordained you with worldly degrees? Has he deceived you by security?

Has he stopped your charge with threats of failure? Has he convinced you that earth is your home? Because it's not.

Consider the example of Peter: a married fisherman, trying to make a living, struggling with passions unknown. But he when he saw Jesus as his Captain, he followed, come hell or high water. And both came, but neither stopped. Not Jesus. Not Peter.

Nor will you.

Men in the movement of actors, models and talent for Christ: You've been called from an ordinary Christian life to an extraordinary spiritual war. Have you been tied down? Untie yourself now. Have you made mistakes? Put them behind you.

Repent from your sins. Resist temptations. Remove distractions. Refuse proud poses. Reduce your waist size. Curb complacency. Don't abandon kin. Stop boxing the wind.

Step up to the front. As men, it's your place.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
