Soldier's Orders (Part 40, Conclusion)
Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many. Because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved. This Gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Matthew 24:11-14 (NASB)
Today marks Soldier's Orders, Part 40: the conclusion. The number forty is mentioned 146 times in Scripture. Generally, it symbolizes a period of testing, trial or probation. It can also represent a generation of men.*

Actors, models and talent for Christ: In Spirit, I keep receiving one word: fight. Consider this era as the conclusion of a period of testing. You are the new generation. It's high time to cross the Jordan into the promised land of entertainment.**

What is the Jordan? Physically, it's a winding river that divides Israel from the world. It parted for Elijah, Elisha and Joshua. It transformed Jesus, the Carpenter, into Messiah, our Savior. Spiritually, it's a place of transition that divides the old from the new. Beyond the Jordan is our destiny.

Today, media is the most powerful influence in the world. Media's capital is America, especially Los Angeles and New York. Media's king, 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2), blitzes earth's people with non-stop propaganda. Media's celebrities, stars of film, fashion, music, theater, sports and news, are worshipped by millions.

Because everyone wants to worship someone or something: a celebrity like Oprah, a group like ISIL, an athlete like Tom Brady, a team like the Lakers, a show like The Voice, a politician like Obama, a beauty like Beyonce, a school like Harvard, a goal like riches, a quality like power, a narcotic like heroin, or a cause like freedom.***

Therefore, actors, models and talent for Christ: Fight for your place in media, and don't expect it to come easily, quickly or exactly how you envisioned it.

So when you win celebrity spots (however big or small the spotlight), when fans begin to worship you (however big or small the audience), you can reveal the Master's plan: His divinity, your humanity, and mankind's Savior. Because...

What if earth's bombarding media blitz signals Satan's last stand? What if you were cast to perform on the platforms he constructed? What if you've been called to star on his screens for God's lost sheep to see? What if it you're meant to preview the coming return of Jesus Christ?

Would you follow Soldier's Orders?

* Short article on the meaning of the number, 40, in the Bible:

** 'When a Christian comes to knowledge of the Word of the Kingdom and starts to apply this knowledge, he in fact has crossed the Jordan. This type of Christian has decided to lose his soul in order to save it, which means nothing less than the decision to apply the Cross in a subjective way... At the Jordan the Lord Jesus was baptized, which signifies that He didn't start His ministry out of Himself, but out of the Father... In the Jordan He had entered the real meaning of the Cross, and was able to say, 'Not My will' (Luke 22:42). Everything personal was set aside. This is the way of our Lord, and this is the way for us as His servants... But once we cross the Jordan it will dawn upon us that the reality of all Bible teaching is to become the embodiment of the Scriptures' (Excerpts from an article on the symbolism the Jordan River by Roel Velema of the Netherlands:

*** Adam She (AMTC's E.D. and my son-in-law) believes every person on earth was designed for worship. I agree.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
