Stage Hands & Helpers
On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor... But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked.
1 Corinthians 12:22-24 (NASB)
Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
Romans 12:16 (NKJV)
In the Bible, God teaches us about the diversity of gifts and talents: how each person is a vital member of His church (including the unnoticed):

Those who listen closely, but seldom speak;
Those who follow closely, but seldom lead;
Those who might be judged less significant.

But the true Judge doesn't see them that way. To Him, titles and assets mean nothing. It's WHO and HOW we love that matter most.

He cherishes each person equally. Each child of God receives an assignment: a role in His orchestrated movement.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Following behind the 'Bright Morning Star' (Revelation 22:16), you've been called to play His supporting cast in the crucial fields of entertainment.

Because the strange force called celebrity rules the talent mecca called media. To outsiders, mystery surrounds it.

It's a fortress that seems impregnable. Inside it are directors, performers, creatives and busy professionals. While the enemy tries to organize his talent team into a tight unit, he can't. Selfishness and ambition divide them.

It's like the battle of glory-seekers: each climbing up the ladder of success, without regarding those they're pushing down.

But the star they see on top isn't real, and this ladder isn't Jacob's ladder.

At the same time, God's rising stars remain eager to jump off-stage and lend a hand. They do move up, but God is their Focus, and they're happy to bring others along...

They join arms with the crew on every set.

Because we're all just stagehands, assistants and stand-ins. The only Star is Jesus.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
