And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand.
If you ask anything in My Name, I will do it.
Surely, nothing on this earth is more powerful than prayer.
'Every great movement of God can be traced to a kneeling figure' (D.L. Moody).
'Work as if you were to live a hundred years. Pray as if you were to die tomorrow' (Benjamin Franklin).
'No one is a firmer believer in the power of prayer than the devil; not that he practices it, but he suffers from it' (Guy L. King).
'More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of' (Alfred Lord Tennyson).
'I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go' (Abraham Lincoln).
'I would rather teach one man to pray than ten men to preach' (Charles Spurgeon).
'Talking to men for God is a great thing, but talking to God for men is greater still' (E.M. Bounds).
Therefore, we who act, sing, dance, speak, or write about God have less power than a humble man praying on his knees. 'The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much' (James 5:16). If we imagine the riches in Heaven for a great evangelist, consider God's riches awaiting a prayer warrior to be unimaginable.
Therefore, the hallmark star quality of a saint is...
Answered Prayer: 'But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer' (Psalm 66:19). 'Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father' (John 14:12).
Actors, models, and talent for Christ: God promises that your prayers are heard and will be done. Your starring performances as understudy to The King are more important than you know. But your prayers are most important. So, before you go out to play, always pray. Always pray.
