Standard Bearers (Part 2, Conclusion)
Build Up The Highway
He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar, and will whistle to them from the end of the earth; Surely they shall come with speed, swiftly.
Isaiah 5:26 (NKJV)
Go through, Go through the gates! Prepare the way for the people; Build up, Build up the highway! Take out the stones, Lift up a banner for the peoples!
Isaiah 62:10 (NKJV)
Actors, models, and talent for Christ, you are being called. Look closely at today's scriptures:

1) 'He will lift up a banner to the nations from afar.' You are God's banner. You are His standard. And Hollywood? It's way off in left field. From this far off place and through the massive megaphones of media, your witness is broadcasted to all nations.

2) God 'will whistle.' He's putting His Fingers to His Lips in a call out with a high and penetrating pitch. The deaf cannot hear it, but His children do hear, and they heed its urgency. 'Surely they shall come with speed, swiftly.'

3) 'Go through, go through the gates.' What gates? Jesus says, 'I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved' (John 10:9). Could they also be earthly gates? Maybe the original stone gates of Hollywood? Could they be gates to its film studios?

Actors, models, and talent for Christ are God's standard bearers in the field of entertainment, the communicators that will tell His stories to all who have not met the King. Not Elvis. Not Michael. The real King is Jesus, and you are His stand-ins.

In preparation for the millions of people who will meet Him, you are building a highway, a way of integrity. You are removing the stones of oppression that modern media has thrown in the path of His people: stones of idols, false stars, and confusing bling that tempt His children into bondage.

Actors, models, and talent for Christ: your destiny is to shine 'Like jewels of a crown, lifted like a banner over His land' (Zechariah 9:16). Your joy, your truth, and your lifestyle set a more perfect standard. You are the role models for a new generation of seekers.

In you, they find Him.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
