Step By Step, Act By Act
The kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree...
Matthew 13:31-32 (NKJV)
On top of a brilliant education with a perfect Example to follow, Our Father allows us freedom of choice. We choose our paths, for better or for worse.

Each step moves us toward Heaven or hell. Sometimes we waver. Sometimes we change course. But overall, our destinies come from an accumulation of decisions: good or bad, right or wrong... to life or death.

In His time, the Lord seals the deals we've made.

But Satan can't just reach out and take us. Act by act, we must choose to follow him. Unless we're babes, God won't take us either. By one act (His Son's), we are invited. A blessing! Still, we must choose to accept.

Actors, models & talent for Christ: Jesus describes the Kingdom of Heaven as a mustard seed planted within us. Starting with His Word, growing as Spirit: heart to mind, head to foot, and hand to hand. Slowly, we become our thoughts and choices.

What about the opposite direction? Bad choices? Remember a vital Verse: 'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you' (James 4:7).

Satan roams the earth. He knows your weak spots. If you forget your armor, he'll hit you. Resist! You'll build spiritual muscle.

Your progress in media also comes step by step through each faithful decision. Just don't decide to abandon your dream. Each good act moves you closer to success.

## Step By Step, Act By Act

NOTE: This is a 2021 update of a 2011 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
