Step By Step To...
The kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field, which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree...
Matthew 13:31-32 (NKJV)
Choose life or death, blessing or cursing, Heaven or hell. (Read Deuteronomy 30:19) These words sound harsh. Yet, God's Words teach us that our journey to the Kingdom of God or to the misery of hell is a decision.

In both directions, we have freedom of choice. Satan cannot take you. You must give yourself away. Neither will God take you until you give yourself to Him.

Jesus describes the Kingdom of Heaven as a mustard seed inside of us. The seed is planted by hearing the Word of God. Committing our lives to Him begins the growing process. The growth of the Holy Spirit inside of us is step by step, thought by thought, decision by decision.

Every faith-filled choice we make in our lives moves us closer to God.

What about moving in the opposite direction? Bad choices? Remember a vital scripture: 'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you' (James 4:7). He will tempt you; he may hit you in your soft spots, but he cannot take you. Resist and build your Holy Spirit 'muscles.'

For those destined to greatness in the talent industry, your progress will be step by step. Don't abandon your dream or sell out to the world. Resist. Remember that you are a child of the Most High God. You are on a journey, and every positive decision moves you closer to success.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
