The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled.
Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
So we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?'
God rewards boldness.
Why is speaking up so important? Because boldness is a public profession of faith and courage. It is a signal fire that draws, unites and ignites wanderers into a circle of strength. It is God's megaphone in the hands of the weak that makes them strong.
Godly boldness is refined in the fires of humility.
Consider Peter, Christ's boldest disciple: 'And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it' (Matthew 16:18, NKJV).
Consider David, God's boldest shepherd: 'And the Philistine said to David, 'Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!' '
'Then David said to the Philistine, 'You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the Name of the Lord of hosts... This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head' ' (1 Samuel 17:44-46, NKJV).
Neither the gates of hell nor the mouths of giants can stand against God's leaders.
God rewards boldness. It may not come easy, but it brings success in the kingdoms of God and man. So don't let religious people or worldly giants muzzle you... into false submission.
Without God, boldness is swagger built on shifting sands... destined to fall.
With God, boldness is confidence built on The Rock... destined to win.
Therein, boldness is a success strategy.
