Success Strategies: Faith
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:19-20 (NKJV)
Success by the Hand of God requires faith: faith 'That He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.' Note the words 'diligently' (as in unrelenting effort) and 'seek' (as in 'Seek and you will find' *).

Success by the hand of man requires faith, too: But is man a rewarder of those who diligently seek him? Occasionally. But never consistently, perfectly or permanently. Only One is consistent, perfect and permanent.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Seek success in God. He is your Coach, Agent, Casting Director, Publicist and #1 Fan. When this truth is securely settled in your heart, follow Your Leader's command: 'Go into all the world and preach the Good News' (Mark 16:15, NLT).

Staying home won't bring God's success. Neither can you wait for God to reveal His step-by-step plan for you, because He won't. He rewards faith walkers--as opposed to faith talkers, because you cannot be a Christ follower without following.

Consider the disciples of Jesus on their first mission trip: 'He commanded them to take nothing for the journey except a staff--no bag, no bread, no copper in their money belts--but to wear sandals, and not to put on two tunics' (Mark 6:8-9, NKJV). Seriously? Completely.

For their field test, Peter and company had no hotel reservation and no local contacts. They were ordered to go without money, food or supplies. Why? To build their faith. To learn that God would supply all their needs.** 'For we walk by faith, not by sight' (2 Corinthians 5:7, NKJV).

So if you think faithful words and church attendance will secure the success you seek, think deeper. All talk and no action is a lame game. Every Bible hero was a faith walker. God's plan for them and for you is revealed on a step-by-step basis.

Because He promotes people of faith. Therein, walking in faith is a success strategy.

## Success Strategy: Faith (Part 7)

* 'Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened' (Matthew 7:7-8).

** 'And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus' (Philippians 4:19).

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2013 devotion series called, 'Success Strategies.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you're not a performer, don't be deterred. In truth, every disciple acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
