Success Strategies (Part 24)
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your Name be joyful in You.
Psalm 5:11 (NKJV)
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your Right Hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11 (NKJV)
The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.
Psalm 28:7 (NIV)
Let them shout for joy and be glad,

Who favor my righteous cause;

And let them say continually,

'Let the Lord be magnified,

Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.'
Psalm 35:27 (NKJV)
Nothing makes Satan happier than to hear us speak out in anger, anxiety or depression. Why? 'Death and life are in the power of the tongue' (Proverbs 18:21). Consider this analogy: Life is an ocean and you're in a boat. The only thing you control is the rudder (your words).* By them, you either follow Jesus--or you don't. Without Jesus, you're not only headed in the wrong direction, you lose your Anchor, Power and Protection.

Nothing makes Satan angrier than to hear us speak out in joy, praise or thanksgiving. Why? Because 'The Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God' (Ephesians 6:17), frightens him. Because the Lord inhabits the praises of His people.** When you say hallelujah in a trial, Satan loses. You win. Your boat is on the right course, and The Captain of salvation stands at the helm.*** In troubled waters, you're safe.

'Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning' (Psalm 30:5). Few Bible heroes experienced more highs and lows than David. The Psalms are filled with his anguish, but even more with his joy. He knew the joy of the Lord was His strength.****

Performers for God: be joyful every place you go. Become known by a glad smile and kind words. Whether you win a role--or not, people will remember you. Because if you bring joy, you'll eventually get booked, again--and again.

So at all times, be joyful. Therein, joy is a success strategy.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
