Success Strategies (Part 28)
But a generous man devises generous things,

And by generosity he shall stand.
Isaiah 32:8 (NKJV)
I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
Acts 20:35 (NKJV)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 (NKJV)
'God loves a cheerful giver' (2 Corinthians 9:7). How does God show this love? By returning the favor--in abundance. 'Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return' (Luke 6:38). Who is 'they'? Anyone God appoints to bless you.

Consider your Heavenly bank account: 'Lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven' (Matthew 6:20). 'Laying up in store... a good foundation against the time to come' (1 Timothy 6:19), 'That may abound to your account' Philippians 4:17). How do we make deposits? Tithes, offerings, alms, service, sacrifice and praise.*

When we give generously to others, God gives generously to us.

Jesus considers our gifts as given to Him: 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me' (Matthew 25:40).**

We cannot know what God deposits in our account for every good act, word or gift we give. But when we need it, it comes back to us--in abundance.

Although we should not give only to receive, God's perfect justice always rewards. Consider what and Whom He gave. Therefore, generosity is a success strategy.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
