Success Strategies: Right Words
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Ephesians 4:29 (NKJV)
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
Proverbs 15:4 (NKJV)
So shall My Word be that goes forth from My Mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but It shall accomplish what I please, and It shall prosper in the thing for which I sent It.
Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)
Our mouths are portals of power. Consider yourself as a wartime pilot. You're flying a cargo carrier over a ravaged nation, and the payload is your heart:

'A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks' (Luke 6:45, NKJV).

Back to the flight... because we're moving quickly through this life: 'For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away' (James 4:14, NKJV).

The people below you are confused--even desperate. You open the hatch of your plane, which is your mouth. But what comes out? Bombs or blessings? Because 'Death and life are in the power of the tongue' (Proverbs 18:21, NKJV).

In ways we can't understand, words connect us with the supernatural realm. God illustrates this amazing principle with this marvelous description of His Son:

'And the Word became Flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth' (John 1:14, NKJV).

Our words open the doors to Heaven, inviting God and His angelic hosts to fulfill them--which He will. 'Ask and you shall receive' (John 16:24, NKJV).

Because we serve a Lord Who 'Calls those things which do not exist as though they did' (Romans 4:17, NKJV).

Our words can also open the doors to hell, inviting Satan and his demonic hosts to fulfill them--which they will. Unguarded, our mouth 'Is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison' (James 3:8, NKJV).*

Actors, models and talent for Christ: speak right words over yourself, your circumstances and others. Study your script daily, which is His Scripture--because It is life to you and those around you.

Therein, right words are a mandatory success strategy.

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2013 devotion series called, 'Success Strategies.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you're not a performer, don't be deterred. In truth, every disciple acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
