Success Strategies: Thankfulness
I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people.
Psalm 35:18 (NKJV)
Magnify Him with thanksgiving.
Psalm 69:30 (NKJV)
I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the Name of the Lord.
Psalm 116:17 (NKJV)
God likes our thanksgiving and praise. Does He need them? No. The Creator of the universe doesn't need anything--but He wants them. Why?
Because our praise carries supernatural power: power that closes the door on Satan's face and opens the floodgate to God's grace.*
Thanksgiving is the key. Basically, our gratitude pushes the enemy out of every circumstance--especially a dire one. At the same time, it invites God's presence. Both individually and together, the Psalms of King David illustrate this miracle of the mouth.
Could God give us success without praise? Sure, but the Teacher teaches, and we have lessons to learn.
Consider the story of the ten lepers healed by Jesus: 'And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His Feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.'
'So Jesus answered and said, 'Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?' And He said to him, 'Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well' ' (Luke 17:15-19, NKJV).
What do you think happened to the other nine? Did they stay well? Doubtful. So for every good reason, give God the continual thanks and praise He deserves--especially when it's hard.
God promotes people of thanksgiving, so be full of it. Therein, thankfulness is a success strategy.
## Success Strategies: Thankfulness (Part 8)
* 'But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel' (Psalm 22:3); Great old song and lyrics by the Imperials: 'Praise The Lord;' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q-NVHP32L8
** 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.' (Old proverb. Author debated.)
More Words to consider:
'Then out of them shall proceed thanksgiving
And the voice of those who make merry;
I will multiply them, and they shall not diminish;
I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.
Their children also shall be as before,
And their congregation shall be established before Me;
And I will punish all who oppress them' (Jeremiah 30:19-20).
'All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:
'Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom,
Thanksgiving and honor and power and might,
Be to our God forever and ever.
Amen' ' (Revelation 7:11-12).
