The Armor Of God: The Belt Of Truth
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist...
Ephesians 6:14 (NIV)
Since God tells us, His beloved children, that Satan's attacks upon us will not cease until Jesus comes back...

Since God loves us with a jealous love beyond our imagining...

Since God promises He will never leave us...

Since Jesus won the victory over death for us, which guarantees our entry to heaven...

Because of all these things, we know His words and promises are perfectly true. Even more, our most loving Father wants our lives on this side of Heaven to be joyful and fruitful. Therefore, He gives us clear directions and perfect weaponry to keep Satan at bay. This includes the Armor of God, in which we are to clothe ourselves every day.

We put it on in spoken prayer. It's a spiritual garb we cannot view with our eyes, but Satan sees it perfectly well. He cannot penetrate it because it comes from the Father.

The belt of truth is none other than the Holy Spirit of God. It encircles us. 'However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth' (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit is not only within us, it wraps around us like a force field from Star Trek.

Not only does the Holy Spirit guide us, 'But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you' (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit gives us God's own power against the enemy.

Take comfort in His truth while you follow Jesus' great commission to go into the world, even into the entertainment industry.

'I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth' (3 John 1:4).

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
