The Bread Of Life: Luke 11:1-13 (Part 12, Conclusion)
Feeding The Hungry
I revealed Myself to those who did not ask for Me; I was found by those who did not seek Me. To a nation that did not call on My Name, I said, 'Here am I, here am I.'
Isaiah 65:1 (NIV)
And Isaiah boldly says, 'I was found by those who did not seek Me; I revealed Myself to those who did not ask for Me.'
Romans 10:20 (NIV)
Concerning Romans 10:20, theologian Albert Barnes says:

'The meaning is, that God was found, or the true knowledge of Him was obtained, by those who had not sought after Him; that is, by the Gentiles, who had worshipped idols... (They) would have the gospel sent to them, and would embrace it' (Barnes Notes on the Bible).*

Actors, models and talent for Christ: You have been found by those who had not sought after Him. In other words, Hollywood is finding Jesus through you. Because right now, faith-based programs are hot! So are publicly professing Christian stars!

God has sent the good news to people, and they have embraced it, that is to say--you! But remember the take home lesson: what you do on screen is only a hook; it's called fishing. What you do off screen is a meal; it's called feeding. Consider Peter's encounter with the resurrected Christ:

'The third time He said to him, 'Simon son of John, do you love me?' Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, 'Do you love me?' He said, 'Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.' Jesus said, 'Feed my sheep' ' (John 21:17).

To show your love of Jesus, you must feed His sheep. Therefore, feed your family, friends and fans. Feed your agents, cast and competitors. Feed them at home, school and work.

Call them to God's table with your charisma; it's a gift that draws people to you. Charisma is the fuel of fame, and it comes from one of two sources: good or evil. Praise God you found the right Filling Station.

But others got lost. They got filled with many things--including themselves. In them, a gnawing hunger grows. Right now, millions seek fulfillment. Therefore, a time of renewal begins.

In His life as a Man, we know that Jesus fed 5000 and 4000 (plus women and children). But he told His followers:

'Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father' (John 14:12). Through media, Jesus enables you to feed masses! So do it.

You are God's ordained hosts at the table of entertainment. Show them the Bread of Life.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
