When God called Jeremiah, Jeremiah saw himself as young, insignificant and unqualified. When God called David, Samuel saw him as young, insignificant and unqualified.
But they weren't, and you aren't: 'Your troops will be willing on your day of battle. Arrayed in holy splendor, your young men will come to you like dew from the morning's womb' (Psalm 110:3).
When God called Abraham, he was old, settled and unqualified. When God called Moses, he was old, frightened and unqualified. 'Moses said to the Lord, 'Pardon your servant... I am slow of speech and tongue' ' (Exodus 4:10). But Abraham and Moses weren't too old. Neither was Caleb at the age of 85:
'As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the Lord spoke in that day' (Joshua 14:11-12).
When Jesus called His disciples, they were humble men. They weren't priests, scholars or world leaders, but they surpassed all of earth's men who were. Because God qualified them.**
Actors, models and talent for Christ: By Jesus, you are qualified. By your talent, you are qualified. By your humility and your heart, you are qualified. Your age is an asset. Your calling is significant. Your quality is pure gold from the King's bank.
The prince of the power of the air will not overcome you, but you will overcome him. You will climb the mountains of media in numbers so significant that its reigning kings will welcome you--for reasons they do not fully understand... yet. ***
