The Chain Of Command (Part 16, Conclusion)
His Great Commission
All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.
Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved.'
Mark 16:15-16 (NKJV)
Then He said to them, 'Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And you are witnesses of these things.'
Luke 24:46-48 (NKJV)
Then Jesus said to them again, 'Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.'
John 20:21 (NKJV)
Actors, models and talent for Christ: you are soldiers in the Army of Jesus Christ. You are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. You are protected by God Himself. Your uniform is the white robe of saints. Your field is communication. Your code of conduct is to love and to serve. Your mark is excellence. Your standard is high. Your performance is truth.
Jesus gave you a specific action plan:
'Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father Who is in Heaven' (Matthew 5:16). How better to show good works than from a height? What's higher than the mountains of arts, entertainment and media?
'Arise, shine; for your light has come,
And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness will cover the earth
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the Lord will rise upon you
And His glory will appear upon you.
Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising' (Isaiah 60:1-3).
Jesus concludes each Gospel with an important commission: 'Go into all the world and preach,' 'Go therefore and make disciples,' 'You are witnesses of these things,' 'As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.'
A commission is 'an authoritative order, charge, or direction' (Random House Dictionary). These orders come straight from The Top. This chain of command will not be broken. His Word will be fulfilled. Take it to your heart.
'Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, 'Here am I! Send me' ' (Isaiah 6:8). That was Isaiah then.
One question remains: Will you go now?
