The Enemy's Game: Countermeasures--Faith
Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
For with God nothing will be impossible.
Luke 1:37 (NKJV)
If faith is the substance of things hoped for, then faith is the fulfillment of our hopes. We may not get to see it right away, but it's waiting to appear in God's time.*

It's waiting for us to come and get it. Faith may begin on our knees and faces, but it grows up when our feet walk forward.**

So many good pastors talk about faith. So many good books focus on faith, including God's Best Book: His Holy Word. What can I add except some good questions:

Is the testing of our faith essential? Is this why God remains invisible, or why Jesus isn't clearly described?

Because if we saw this divine Duo, when we were troubled teens or wayward men, would our development be suspended? Would we hang around like starstruck groupies? Mesmerized by the Faces of our Kin, unable to grow in relationship?

I believe God made us for communion. Not as a leader of infantile fans, but as a Father of brilliant children: children who grow up in faith's refinement.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: if the enemy hates your progress, if your progress depends on your faith, then expect your faith to be challenged. Consider some of his common lies:

1) 'Eating with sinners is dangerous. You're better off snuggled with your kin.' (If any believer buys this line, he's like a hobbled horse with blinders.) The bigger danger is staying home.

2) 'Keep your talent under the church roof. You'll be safe and appreciated.' (How many times did Jesus tell us that we're to be the light of the world?) Burying God's gifts can be deadly.

3) 'Wait until everything is lined up. Be logical in your decisions.' (In other words, faith steps are stupid. Try telling that to true disciples.) Man's logic is foolishness to God.

So continue your forward movement. Not one thing on this earth can stop you, except the surrender of your faith.

## The Enemy's Game: Countermeasures--Faith (Part 42)

* 'For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry' (Habakkuk 2:3, NKJV).

** Remember the story about Moses and the tribal leaders who turned an 11-day trip into a 40-year trial, because of their lack of faith in moving forward: Numbers 13: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Numbers%2013&version=NKJV

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2015 devotion series called, 'The Enemy's Game.' You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you're not a performer, don't be deterred. In truth, every disciple acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents.

P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the The Enemy's Game series.
