The Enemy's Game: Countermeasures--Water
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink; For you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you.

John 7:37-39 (NKJV)
God's comparison of burning coals to food and water is intriguing.
Could a tenderhearted offer of nourishment toward an enemy help burn away some of the most common misconceptions about Christians?
Like the one where we hate everyone who doesn't look and act like we do?
Or the one where we think we are holier than everyone else on earth?
Or maybe the one about judgment, like God qualified us to condemn?
Actors, models and talent for Christ: More than Voss, Fiji or Perrier, your water carries God's Own Spirit. He brings life to suffering people. He brings everlasting refreshment. So how exactly is He witnessed?
A surprising act of compassion,
A sincerely encouraging word,
A pause in your plans to help others,
An unexpected invitation,
An unusually thoughtful gift,
Your performance in a nursing home,
Or your kindness in a waiting room.
Because everyone outside of Christ is exceedingly thirsty for love, and out of your heart will flow rivers of living water to revive them.
