The Enemy's Game: Countermeasures--World Denial
Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, 'All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before Me, all will be Yours.'
And Jesus answered and said to him, 'Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' '
Luke 4:5-8 (NKJV)
Actors, models and talent for Christ, God gave you some interesting jobs:
To go into all the world for Him, but stay securely tied to Jesus;
To rise on entertainment's stages, but refuse to worship its idols;
To carry Good News of peace and love, but to turn away from strife and lust.
How can you live among sensations, yet resist their flashy temptations?
How can you act in such strange stories, yet not reflect their manmade glories?
The Lord God loves a good paradox: surprise endings men would never guess. The way His stars can deny the world without defying its reigning kings, the way His stars can play on this field without compromise or injury... is to put on the Armor of God.*
The Belt of Truth can't be shaken loose; it surrounds you wherever you go. The Breastplate of Righteousness won't fail; Jesus covers your heart with His Blood; The Footgear of Peace softens hard soil, allowing God's Word to be planted.
The Shield of Faith deflects fiery darts; insults don't penetrate solid trust. The Helmet of Salvation stands strong to protect your mind from evil thoughts. The Sword of the Spirit always wins; God's never-lose, guaranteed Scripture is your undefeated Champion.
Therein, you light up entertainment and succeed without going AWOL.**
