The Enemy's Game (Part 12)
Tactics: Blinding
The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the Light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, Who is the Image of God.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (NASB)
For behold, darkness will cover the earth

And deep darkness the peoples;

But the Lord will rise upon you,

And His glory will appear upon you.

Nations will come to your light,

And kings to the brightness of your rising.
Isaiah 60:2-3 (NASB)
Consider some theatrical lights: spots, strobes, floods, ropes, beams, flames, flashes, washes, gobos and lasers. Talented designers bring dazzling light to stars and screens. They compete with each other for audience attention.

But at the end of the show, lights turn off and stars go home.

Consider some godly lights: sunrises, twinkling stars, reaching rays, sunny days, arching bows, lively eyes, children's smiles and Jesus. Our matchless Creator brings glowing light to earth and men. They support each other to shine for the glory of God.

And His show never ends. By His Son's light, it grows brighter.

But when those who don't know God live by artificial light, they face great risk: continual exposure can blind them.

Actors, models and talent for Christ: In the manmade lights of media, on the back of a glowing dragon, you perform an impossible act:

You replace the devil's bait and switch--the one that turns hopes to nothingness, the one that deafens, hardens and blinds--with a gentle Light that warms and heals. By carrying God's very Own Light, the Sun of Righteousness now rises.

Darkness has no choice, except to flee.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
