The Enemy's Game (Part 14)
Tactics: Bondage
The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NASB)
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son.
Colossians 1:13 (NASB)
How many ways can a man of freedom be bound? Apart from various physical confinements, consider a few commonly obvious ways: overeating, drinking, smoking, shopping and drugs. The results? Poor health, dimmed wits, big loads and hard debt.

Now consider some sneakier chains of bondage: guilt, fear, lust, kin, work, church, comfort and depression. By them, believers don't walk the way of Jesus. They're shamed, scared, gripped, snuggled or covered up with cares. But to help free others, we must be free ourselves.

Deliverance is controversial today. If you missed this AMTC study series, a link to its first part is referenced below.*

But if you know you're walking in guts and glory, and the field of media is your assignment, then rehearse Paul's Words above in 2 Timothy. They describe our role in breaking chains of bondage.

We mustn't speak cutting words from high positions. Instead, we're kind-hearted and refuse argument. And we're not just kind when it's easy to be kind, but we're patient and gentle, even when we're wronged.

By turning the other cheek without condemning, by tender teaching when anger has subsided, we're beating Satan's opposing forces by love. Didn't Jesus example this same strategy?
