The Enemy's Game (Part 28)
Tactics: Impatience*
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:2-4 (NKJV)
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
Dear actors, models and talent for Christ:

Consider this a love letter to grads, and a wake up call to all believers:

Since God blessed you with noteworthy talent, since performing in church felt so comfy, since family and friends encouraged you, since Jesus said, 'Go unto all nations,' since you followed His Commandment to go...

Since AMTC gave you a callback, since you said yes and worked hard in training, since you received some beautiful pictures, since you showed the faith and courage to SHINE, since you sacrificed to make it happen...

Since you're learning the industry better, since you connected with career makers, since you progressed in the world after SHINE, since you've been on auditions and castings, since you've seen fellow grads win major roles...

Since jobs like theirs haven't come to you yet, since you've been attacked by second-guessing, since hometown ties started to pull you back, since entertainment is filled with sinners, shouldn't you turn around and quit the field?

But you'd be scoring a goal for Satan, because impatience is his strategy. If worldly performers can stick it out, through years of small steps and disappointments, then will its kings find us ten times better--when we impatiently walk off the stage?**

With the greatest of hope!

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
