The Enemy's Game (Part 31)
Tactics: Diversion
A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.' But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.' And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' So that servant came and reported these things to his master.

Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.' And the servant said, 'Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.' Then the master said to the servant, 'Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.'
Luke 14:16-24 (NKJV)
Among developed nations, America holds the world's most overworked people.* It also holds the most Christians and is second only to Israel in Jews.** This believer concentration makes the U.S. enemy target number one.

Therefore, Satan constructed within our borders unprecedented distractions. Therein, over-stimulated Americans are earth's busiest believers. We're ceaselessly engaged by our business, shopping, children, errands and media.

As we're focused on our personal goals, as we're confined by our family's needs, as we're seduced in our endless desires, as we're burdened under substantial loads, as we're consumed with our daily To Do's, will a ruthless deceiver consume us?***

We can even be too busy in church. The church at Ephesus felt that challenge.**** Although they labored quite exceedingly, He noted their first Love was left behind. God's advice? 'Repent and do the first works' (Revelation 2:5).

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Your first work is to represent God. You're entering earth's busiest stage, the one Satan built to distract us: the industry of entertainment. His industry is your opening.

Like God's people crossing the Jordan to enter the labor of others, fortified cities and encampments, you enter the land of promises: the gates and towers of media. But on your way, don't get distracted.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
