The Enemy's Game (Part 39)
He healed many, so that as many as had afflictions pressed about Him to touch Him... But when His Own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, 'He is out of His Mind.'
Mark 3:8,21 (NKJV)
'Is this not the Carpenter, the Son of Mary, and Brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?' So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not without honor except in his own country, among his own relatives, and in his own house.'
Mark 6:3-4 (NKJV)
Noah was demented. Abraham was past prime. Jacob was a cheater. Leah was unwanted. Joseph was a dreamer. Tamar was a schemer. Moses wasn't able. Joshua was afraid. Rahab was a harlot. Samson was amusement. Ruth was a foreigner. David was just a kid. (So was Jeremiah.) Elijah was lonely. Job was just a loser.
Famous moms were barren. Heroes were outnumbered. Their armies were too few. Their foes were too strong, and their God was a myth.
Mary was immoral. Her husband was too nice. Jesus was from nowhere. His legacy was doomed. His men were know-nothings. His Words were heresy. His healings were cheap tricks. Sinners were too evil. Lazarus was too dead. Zaccheus was too small. Peter was too forward. Paul was too radical, and The Way was too hard.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: The devil belittles believers. It may come from the mouths of strangers or your beloved kin and close friends. It may come from thoughts in your own head, because even believers can doubt. Either way, Satan is behind it.
Count yourself worthy to be attacked. Your Captain suffered previously. Every Bible leader faced these cons. So get dressed in the Armor of God. Belittling is a familiar play in Satan's schemes of discouragement.
'Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him Who loved us' (Romans 8:37).
