The Enemy's Game (Part 68)
Countermeasures: Redefining Freedom
If you continue in My Word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.
John 8:31-32 (NASB)
How would the people of the world define freedom? The ability to do and be what they want? The mobility to go and live where they choose? The privilege to practice their faith openly? The security of possessing great riches?

Surely, freedom is a life without confinement. Even so, millions are bound in dire positions, and Jesus said believers are bound to help them.*

But what about the average American, or others who expect and enjoy liberty? We're free to spend big, get high, talk smack and watch smut. We can dress naughty, eat plenty and go party.

We pursue happiness every which way but up.

Actors, models and talent for Christ, you've been sent to relay a message: False freedoms will never satisfy. They tie us up and lead us around.

You represent a new way of life. You're a walking billboard of freedom, and its look is completely unique. It's not a right, but a privilege. It's not in bling, but simplicity. It's no one's tune, but His symphony. It's no one's place, but in His placement.

It's not ownership, but sacrifice. It's not a process, but a Person. It's not in body, but in Spirit. It's not receiving, but in giving.

You refute Satan's myths of freedom when you serve men a different food: the wonderful fruits of God's Spirit.**

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
