The Last Commandment For Hollywood, #11
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
Matthew 13:34 (NAS)
Jesus added an eleventh commandment to the ten before it: to love our neighbors.

Who are our neighbors in the entertainment industry? Actors, artists, and production assistants; agents, managers, and casting directors; rising, falling, and wandering stars; everyone we meet. Toward them, we must...

Walk in love. These are our marching orders. Too many Christians have left the love walk to talk the hate talk--especially toward Hollywood. Their dismay over negative programming is right, but their reaction to it is wrong.

Therefore, actors, models and talent for Christ walk into this mission field with smiling faces and open arms. They come in love--not condemnation. They come to lend a hand rather than receive one.

Jesus became famous when He entered a city in love. He welcomed the outcasts, embraced the sinners, and uplifted the downtrodden.

Fame was only His calling card--a door opener, leading those who entered to health, joy, truth, peace, and life.

Our fame can be no less.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
