The Neutral Zone
He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
Matthew 12:30 (NASB)
This is war, and there is no neutral ground. If youre not on My side, youre the enemy; if youre not helping, youre making things worse.
Luke 11:23 (The Message)
The Bible speaks countless myth-popping truths that differ greatly from the world we know.

In the world, politicians compromise. Leaders make promises (but don't keep them). Saying YES to everything helps them win.

Their most frequent track is the neutral zone: a low-risk, no-sweat, head-down position, where coasting hands-free is the gear of choice.

They move so slowly... maybe they're frozen? Then they pivot so quickly... it's a blur: a greyed-out shadow of indecision.

Our Saviour isn't into politics and Truth isn't found in the neutral zone.

'I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live' (Deuteronomy 30:19). Our Leader is an all-consuming God. From His saints, He demands whole-heartedness. In His saints, He detests neutrality.

Therein, consider these sobering Words:

'So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of My Mouth' (Revelation 3:16).

God forbids fence-sitting indecision. He rebukes non-speakers and flame quenchers. He condemns low-lying non-responders. He evicts half-hearted Christians who love Him on Sunday- but forget Him on Monday.

Better to be a stone-cold atheist. Why? Because atheists aren't hypocrites. Because breaking through ice is easier than kindling a flame in tepid water.

Therefore, our Action-God blesses the moves of actors, models and talent for Christ. You rise beyond the safe spots in churches and represent Him in entertainment.

The result? 'The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them' (Matthew 11:5).

## The Neutral Zone

NOTE: This is a 2021 update of a 2011 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
