The One In Ten...
On a road trip, Jesus met ten lepers, 'Who stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, 'Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!' ' (v.12-13).
Jesus chose not to heal them on the spot. Instead, He gave them a new direction: 'Go show yourselves to the priests' (v.14).
Note: The lepers spoke up in humility, not feeling worthy to come near the Man. They were healed when they filled His prescription.
When have urgent requests of our own, we should copy the lepers' first two acts:
1) While they couldn't touch Him physically (and neither can we in this present age), they touched Him with their clear and humble words.
2) Although they weren't healed immediately (and neither are most of us... instantly), they walked on in hopeful expectation.
Sadly, nine out of ten missed the last step. Only one returned to glorify God. Only one remembered to thank Jesus.
What happened to the other nine lepers? Surely, they received the same miracle. Jesus didn't reveal their destinies, but I'm doubtful of their happy endings. Did they fall into sin or more illness by their absence of appreciation?
God forbid any of us, His children, return to a dirty, self-centered life... after we're cleansed by His Son's sacrifice.

So don't blend. Always be the one in ten.
## The One In Ten...
NOTE: This is a 2021 update of a 2011 Carey Lewis Devotion. You may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' If you think you're not in show business, think again. Shakespeare said, 'All the world's a stage and all its men and women merely players. Mostly true. But you're not merely players. You are messengers and ambassadors for the King of kings.
