Trailblazers (Part 1)
The beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. As it is written in the Prophets:
'Behold, I send My messenger before Your Face,
Who will prepare Your way before You.
The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
'Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.' '
John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
Mark 1:1-4 (NKJV)
Mark one man: John the Baptist. He preceded the first coming of Christ. As the New Testament's trailblazer, John was an extraordinary prophet in a desperate time: a time when Rome ruled Israel and religion ruled faith. Both exploited God's people. Many were lost and confused.
Mark one movement: Actors, models and talent for Christ. They precede the second coming of Christ. As entertainment trailblazers, they're extraordinary performers in a desperate time: a time when media rules nations and religion rules faith. Both exploit God's people. Millions are lost and confused.
Consider the meaning of trail: 'a path or track made across a wild region or over rough country' (RH Dictionary). No matter what we pretend, America leads the world in idol worship. Therein, we're a wild region and a rough country.
If America is a piece of land, it is overgrown with weeds and thorns. If America is covered with roads, they are broad, busy and wandering. If America exports media, then we profit by celebrity.
Consider the meaning of blazing: 'to shine like flame, to be brilliantly conspicuous' (RH Dictionary). Actors, models and talent for Christ: Your job is similar to the job of John the Baptist: to become trailblazers. More specifically, media trailblazers: messengers before the King's return.
Because Jesus is coming back in a blaze of glory called the Day of the Lord: a joy for friends and family, a dread for fiends and fakes. Surely, God wants every person on earth to have a fair chance and clear choice. Surely God wants 'All people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth' (1 Timothy 2:4). His Name is Jesus.
But because of sin-sational celebrity lifestyles, we're in the midst of massive confusion. Your job is to set the record straight about Who Jesus is and who He is not. How can you act on this commission? Become brilliantly conspicuous in media.
