A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
You are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
God is the only Master Who doesn't use chains: no leg irons or handcuffs, no beaten submissions, no charming addictions, no hidden clause contracts, no phony promises, no unwilling mergers, no forced parental rights, no posse to chase us and no guilt-trip demands.
God created freedom of choice: 'I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live' (Deuteronomy 30:19).
Satan perverted freedom of choice: 'If You will worship before me, all will be Yours' (Luke 4:7). He neglected to mention the glory would be temporary, but the darkness would be permanent.
Because Satan is 'The tempter' (Matthew 4:3), 'The accuser' (Revelation 12:10), 'The father of lies' (John 8:44), 'The god of this world' (2 Corinthians 4:4) and 'The prince of the power of the air' (Ephesians 2:2). The power of the air is media, and he's the king of bait and switch.
Actors, models and talent for Christ: 'You, brethren, have been called to liberty' (Galatians 5:13). So don't forget your chain cutters. Among them are 'Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness' and 'self-control' (Galatians 5:22-23).
What chains do they cut? The invisible ties created by 'Immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these' (Galatians 5:19-21).
You can't cut them with judgment. That's just another tie. Toward people who don't know they're imprisoned, who don't know the source of it, who don't know the Solution, you offer them love. Because 'Love never fails' (1 Corinthians 13:8), even in the breaking of chains.
