Transformed! Like Ruth: Star Performers
So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife... And the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. Then the women said to Naomi, 'Blessed is the Lord Who has not left you without a redeemer today, and may his name become famous in Israel. May he also be to you a restorer of life and a sustainer of your old age; for your daughter-in-law, who loves you and is better to you than seven sons, has given birth to him.'

Then Naomi took the child and laid him in her lap, and became his nurse. The neighbor women gave him a name, saying, 'A son has been born to Naomi!' So they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
Ruth 4:13-17 (NASB)
The Book of Ruth concludes in joy for Its two heroines, Naomi and Ruth. Boaz, their leading man, proved equal to the role of hero and became an ancestor in the Bloodline of Jesus.

In review, consider one defining quality for each star:

Naomi: an excellent witness of God in an idol-worshipping nation. Her selfless love inspired Ruth to make the most important choice of her life: to follow the Lord God of Israel--leaving everything she once knew behind.

Ruth: a woman of great virtue born to an alien nation at a time of great sin in Israel. Ruth proved that a bad pedigree in the eyes of man can become the best pedigree in the Eyes of God.

Boaz: a man of wealth and wisdom who valued character above money. His rescue of two damsels in distress previewed a greater rescue by Jesus: the rescue of all mankind.

But what of those Who don't know Him?

Actors, models and talent for Christ: Like Naomi, become excellent witnesses of Jesus in an idol-worshipping world. Your selfless love will be noticed by millions--with the goal of inspiring others to follow the One you follow.

Like Ruth, become stars of great virtue at a time of great sin. How people start means little. How they finish means everything. Lead God's lost sheep home. Help them finish well.

Like Boaz, you possess wealth and wisdom. Because in our world today, a world where the #1 goal of children is to become famous, your talent is valuable. If your good example can save one child, or ten, or a million, from a life of bondage...

What is your performance worth?

Everything.

## Transformed! Like Ruth: Star Performers (Part 9, Conclusion)

NOTE: This series is a republished edit of a 2014 series called, 'Lessons From Ruth.' In these devotions, you may see notes to 'Actors, Models & Talent for Christ.' I have not changed this designation. Because in a greater sense, every disciple of Christ acts for Christ, models Christ and stewards His talents, from which God expects a profit.

P.S. To read the other devotions in this series, please see the Transformed! Like Ruth series.
