Declare His deeds among the people.
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
I will declare Your Name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
David was a publicist: a personal and professional witness for God. 'Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people' (Isaiah 55:4). David gave all victory to God: 'God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water' (1 Chronicles 14:11). David gave all glory to God. 'Give to the Lord the glory due His Name' (1 Chronicles 16:29).
David's devotion was not private: 'I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly' (Psalm 40:10).
His fears, tears and mistakes were not private. His faith, hope and love were not private. He was not concerned with political correctness, but greatly concerned with spiritual declaration. Because he continued to confess his utter dependence on God, God continued to uphold him. Therein, David opened a stage for the greater Star to come.
But before the Son of David returns for earth's finale, God calls forward a new group of publicists:
Actors, models and talent for Christ: 'You are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read by all men' (2 Corinthians 3:2). Except today, letters come on blogs and stars come on screens. The witness of good and evil travels at unprecedented speeds.
In one keystroke, millions are moved for the better--or for the worse. Since 21st century sheep are led by media, God's 21st century shepherds head into the field of arts and entertainment, 'Lest Satan should get an advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices' (2 Corinthians 2:11).
God allowed this stage to be set, and Jesus gave you clear direction: 1) 'Go and make disciples of all nations' (Matthew 28:19); 2) 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation' (Mark 16:15); 3) 'You are witnesses of these things' (Luke 24:48); 4) 'As the Father has sent Me, I am sending you' (John 20:21).
Actors, models and talent for Christ, witnesses
, Jesus will return soon. 'Behold, I am coming quickly' (Revelation 22:12). Never before has your declaration of God been more important. Never before has your witness of truth been more needed. Never before has your rising to shine been more evident.
