But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
'God is faithful' (1 Corinthians 1:9); Jesus is 'The faithful Witness' (Revelation 1:5); 'Those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful' (Revelation 17:14). 'He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad' (Matthew 12:30).
Among non-believers, faith is impossible. Among the intelligent, skepticism rules--as it must. Because 'There is no one righteous--not even one' (Romans 3:10). No person, business, promise or success is true and everlasting. This fact is a source of unceasing pain to every person outside of God--which is why we must show them the better way. The love of Christ compels us to share our faith.
In Matthew Chapter 12, when Jesus speaks of those who are against Him, He is not talking to men of the world. He is talking to men of God. Because once you know Jesus, you are no longer an innocent or ignorant outsider. You are a member of the 'Household of faith' (Galatians 6:10).
Actors, models and talent for Christ: believers are held to the highest standard, because we carry the Highest Standard, Who is God. We carry His flags of faith, hope and love. With them, we walk into the world, because He gave us that commission. Only babies cannot walk.
But if we can
walk and refuse, we become faith without works, which is dead. Believing is one thing: 'Even the demons believe--and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead' (James 2:19-20).
So you walk and you work! I praise God for your faith and courage. But remember: when you carry His Standard, you become targets. Even so, you are not defenseless. Yes, you have God. In addition, Jesus gave you His Words and He gave you His power, including the Armor of God.*
So continue, you who are called, chosen and faithful. David did, and look where it got him. You'll get there, too--that others may see, believe and be saved.
