You Fool!
Whoever says, 'You fool,' shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.
Matthew 5:22 (NAS)
Are you a dreamer? If you are a child of God, you must be a dreamer.

God writes His calling for our lives in our hearts and minds. His plan may not make sense to those around you. It won't fit into the world's common path. Consider the plans and dreams given to Abraham, Moses, David, Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, Zechariah, and every prophet. The list of godly 'fools' is longer than I can write. Indeed, God calls us His 'Peculiar people' (Titus 2:14), but He says it with the utmost love.

Do you prophesy? 'I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions' (Joel 2:28). Sounds to me like all of us will be receiving messages from God. We are His people, His priests.

Has anyone called you a fool? A dreamer? Not practical? Not realistic? Stupid? 'God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise' (1 Corinthians 1:27).

If you have been ridiculed for a dream you believe is from God, it's time to celebrate! 'If any man among you thinks that he is wise in this age, he must become foolish, so that he may become wise' (1 Corinthians 3:18). You're on the path to wisdom. You're on the road to your destiny.

Jesus told us we would be called fools and worse on His path. The world's wisdom is poison, and its riches are death. You are living water. The two don't mix.

It is written, 'Do not treat prophecies with contempt' (1 Thessalonians 5:20). Therefore, we receive them with appreciation and reflection. When we hear visions, prophesies, and dreams, we may be hearing Words of God for us or for others.

What about false prophets? What if their words are not from God? Jesus said we 'Will know them by their fruits' (Matthew 7:16). Therefore, seek godly confirmations about all visions and those who speak them. Yet, never call anyone a fool!

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
