I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day.
Hollywood hosts a large number of prodigal stars who began as young Christians. What happened? How did they lose their way?
I believe wandering stars get lost when they lose sight of God. Young leaders need mature leaders. Paul, 'A preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles' (2 Timothy 1:11), served as Timothy's mentor, his guide.
We continue in this series with God's guidance to young leaders:
9) Surround yourself with Christians. 'Pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart' (2 Timothy 2:22). Pursue a good church. Find a wise mentor. Heed your elders. 'Love the brotherhood' (1 Peter 2:17).
Never forget that you are in a foreign culture on a hostile planet. The enemy seeks to isolate you and assimilate you--with temptations, taunts, or tears--whatever works. Yet 'Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind' (Romans 12:2).
Renew your mind through His Word, His Spirit, and godly fellowship--'Not forsaking the assembling' (Hebrews 10:25) of yourselves together. Jesus sends you to all nations, and media is your airplane. But He never meant for you to fly alone.
10) Be bold. 'Evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus' (2 Timothy 3:13-15).
Because bad is bold in the entertainment industry, good must be bolder.
You are with the right team and on the right path. It may not seem that way sometimes, but you must continue.
To Be Continued...
