Your Image (Part 4, Conclusion)
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV)
If Jesus is 'The Image of the invisible God' (Colossians 1:15), if we are 'Being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory' (2 Corinthians 3:18), if we are to 'Put on the new man which was created according to God' (Ephesians 4:24)...

If 'We are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us,' if we are 'The body of Christ' (1 Corinthians 12:27), then shouldn't His body look good? Shouldn't ours?

If we are 'Good soldier{s} of Jesus Christ' (2 Timothy 2:3), if we are 'Laborers {sent} into His harvest' (Luke 10:2), then shouldn't we be fit and ready for action?

If we are a 'Chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that {we} may proclaim the praises of Him who called {us} out of darkness into His marvelous light' (1 Peter 2:9), if we are to let our 'Light so shine before men, that they may see {our} good works and glorify {our} Father in heaven' (Matthew 5:16)...

If 'Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen' (Hebrews 11:1), if our job in God's army is one of communication...

Are we the 21st century evidence of Christ to media-attached eyes? If Jesus came to 'Save that which was lost' (Matthew 18:11), are we His stars sent to guide them home?

For all of these reasons and more, actors, models, and talent for Christ must acknowledge the importance of their image to succeed in the entertainment industry. Your beauty is a calling card. It invites a look. Then your talent is discovered. It invites a closer look. Then Christ is discovered.

That discovery is golden. Inviting it is your purpose.

P.S. Note from Carey: God is diverse, as are His creations. The definition of beauty is broad. We do not advocate one type of beauty, because a narrow view opposes the diversity of God. However, we do advocate a healthy lifestyle in an unhealthy world. Good choices and self-discipline nurture not only your own marketability as a performer, but also the best example for fans to follow.

"I labored, yet not I. By the grace of God, I am what I am, and do what I do' (paraphrase of 1 Corinthians 15:10). I love God's Word. As a late-in-life committed Christian with no Bible training prior to age 51, some people wonder how I'm qualified to write devotions. I wonder that, too. But God loves children and fools for Him. I am both. Ghost Writer? God.
